Recaro Seat Fix

In anticipation of being denied Warranty service from the company I purchased some seat foam and went to work.  I understand the denial of Warranty but since these seats had so few actual miles on them I expected a discount on the replacement foam none was offered.  To recap here is a photo of the seat after I peeled back the fabric:

This is a Recaro Seat …Sickening

As you can see the damage extends all the way up to the shoulder area, I cut out the crap and used it as a template to make the new foam.

You can’t see in the photos because I neglected to take one, but I wrapped the foam in neoprene and put neoprene under the foam where it rests on the frame to reinforce it.  Hopefully this will last longer than the original.  the replacement cost from the factory was 75.00 for the foam not including shipping, my costs was about 30 bucks and some time, I have plenty of foam left over was it worth it, IDK but I couldn’t see doing business with RECARO again.  The Fabric was a bit puckered from where the foam was damaged, I will attempt to steam this out.  Tools used Contact Cement, electric carving knife, razor blades, scissors, masking tape homemade cheese grater made from a metal jar top. most of the time was spent waiting for glue to dry, shaping went quick.
